To keep the bonfire going for as long as the attendees were out at the official Firefly Launch Party, over 40 pallets of wood had to be used throughout the night! The Official Firefly event started at La Bamba in Simpson Bay and continued on to Red Piano until the wee hours of the morning. Between 250- 300 people joined in on the festivities which included attractions such as a sax player, a bonfire, fire dancers and of course, Firefly!
Usually, La Bamba is not too busy on Friday nights, but the Firefly event hyped up the scene and the continuation of the festivities at Red Piano ensured that everyone enjoyed their night out. Even the day after the party, people were still talking about Firefly and the fun they had the night before. It was easy to spot those who had attended as many were still sporting their Firefly temporary tattoos for days following the fete.
The evening featured some fantastic 2-4-1 Firefly drink specials, but two clear favorites were the Ginger Glow and the Firefly Spiked Palmer. To make the Ginger Glow at home mix one part Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka and one part Ginger Ale. Want to try the Firefly Spiked Palmer? All you need is one part Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, 1 part Lemonade and a Lemon Twist to garnish your drink.
If you missed this event keep an eye out for upcoming Firefly events in St. Maarten hosted by the exclusive Firefly distributor on island, Caribbean Liquors and Tobacco!
